Beachwalk Spanning Entire City Of Miami Beach Coming Soon
The entire length of beach in Miami Beach will soon have a beachwalk, after the city voted last week to move forward with the final piece.
Residents and guests will be able to walk, run, and bike from the South Pointe Park at the southern tip of the city all the way to the northern border with Surfside upon completion.
In total, the beachwalk will be 7 miles long.
Last week, commissioners gave the green light to begin the final stretch of beachwalk, at a cost of $4.5 million, according to the Herald. It will run from from 79th Street to 87th Terrace.
There’s also a rebuilt park coming as part of the plans. Yesterday, the Miami Beach Design Review Board voted to approve a rebuild of the North Beach Oceanside Park next to the new beachwalk.
Replacement of the wooden boardwalk with a beachwalk between 24th and 45th streets is expected to be complete in summer 2021.
The final span from 79th Street to 87th Terrace will be completed in spring 2022, at which point the entire 7-mile beachwalk will be open.
